We host our auction online and focus on connecting with community-favorite small businesses because we’re seeking support from people outside our immediate school community. Taking 5 minutes to email neighbors, family, and friends, is a really great way to support Roxhill without spending a dime. Here’s a template to get you started. Copy-and-paste into an email, add a personal greeting if you can, and know that we’re so grateful for your help!
Hi Friends and Family,
I wanted to let you know that our elementary school, Roxhill, is having a fundraising auction right now! It would mean a lot to us if you checked it out and considered placing a bid or two before it closes Friday, April 3 at 8pm, Seattle time. Every dollar raised helps Roxhill’s students—we call them “Roxstars”—get the supplies and experiences they need to thrive. Here’s the auction link.
Bidding is easy! Pick an item, enter into the “Max Bid” field what you’re willing to pay, and then the website will bid for you in set increments. If you’re the top bidder, you win!
Not interested in any of the items? You can also make a direction donation or “fund a need” and help us pay for a huge new mural to fill our sad concrete and asphalt playground.
Here are just some of the items in the auction. There’s something for almost anyone in the Seattle area, not just West Seattle:
- Tickets to sports, movies, and music! Kraken, Sounders, Reign FC, Junction FC, Rhodies FC, NW Film Forum, and Kenyon Hall
- Fun activities for your family: Woodland Park Zoo, Seafair, Seattle Aquarium, MoPOP, rock climbing, roller skating, monorail tickets, and more!
- Camps & birthday parties for kids: Dance classes, art and music classes, art and music camps, and birthday parties at Arena Sports and the Y!
- Self-care for you and your loved ones: Yoga passes, fitness classes, spas, and a night in a Seattle AirBnB.
- Date Nights and Food: Pizza, bakeries, coffee, West Seattle Garden Tour, Junction Wine Walk, sunset kayak tour, mead tasting, paint & sip date, and pottery classes
- Stuff you need! Burien Bark, West Seattle Nursery, Pegasus and Third Place and Paperboat Books, family photography, tutoring, landscaping, pressure washing, and home cleaning
When you bid on something you want, your winning bids go straight to supporting education, even more so when going beyond the “value” of the item. It’s a win-win! Please take a look and consider bidding or donating by April 3rd. Here’s the auction link.
And if you’re not in a position to donate or don’t see an item you want, would you forward this along to someone who might? Again, getting this auction beyond our school community is the #1 way we can raise funds to support our school.
Thanks,
[YOUR NAME]
