Early May Events: Auction, Teacher Appreciation, Park Meetup, and more!

As we head into the last two months of school, there will be many opportunities to come together, celebrate, and support Roxhill and our community. Here’s a first batch of ways to get involved, and we’ll share even more soon!

Free Roxhill Auction Celebration, May 3, 3-5pm

The Friends of Roxhill fundraising auction is still going! Bid now before May 3 at 4:30pm. Every bid supports Roxhill kids!

The entire Roxhill school community is invited to celebrate May 3 at 3pm on the Roxhill playground. The event is FREE, and no bidding is required. Join us for snacks, playtime, and a FREE kids raffle with awesome prizes!

If you can, please consider volunteering to help with setup, cleanup, and auction support.

We hope to see you there!

May 5-9 is National Teacher Appreciation Week! At Roxhill we appreciate all school staff. You can help say “thank you” in a few different ways this week.

  • Tuesday, May 6: Bring your teacher flowers (hand picked are just as good as store bought!).

  • Friday, May 9: Help your child make a thank you card for their teacher and have them deliver the card on Friday, May 9.

The full schedule for teacher appreciation week:

  • Monday – A Thank you from Principal Lorow

  • Tuesday – Flowers for your Teacher, hand picked flowers for your teacher

  • Wednesday – Paggliacci Pizza for lunch courtesy of Paggliacci Pizza

  • Thursday – Coffee from Friends of Roxhill Elementary (FORE) at Realfine Coffee

  • Friday – Make a Thank You card for your Teacher

Friends of Roxhill PTO Community Meeting: May 12

Monday, May 12

6:00-7:30 pm

Enter through front entrance

Friends of Roxhill is our school’s non-profit parent/teacher organization (PTO). We are parents, community members, and teachers who work together to support the education and enrichment of our multicultural public school.

Everyone is welcome and all ideas are encouraged!

Our meetings are usually on the 2nd Monday of the month from 6–7:30 p.m. This is a great way to connect with Principal Lorow, parents, caregivers and teachers in the Roxhill community. Pizza and childcare will be provided. Spanish interpretation will be available. Interpretation for other languages is available upon request. Email friendsofroxhill@gmail.com with questions.

We have 2 more weeks of our spring fundraiser!

We are partnering again with Flower Power Fundraising to sell flower bulbs, kitchen garden herbs, sprouts, seeds and more to bring some joy to your home garden or window sill this spring and raise money for our school.

Buy your flowers now

Share the link with your friends, neighbors, co-workers and relatives across the country. They have a variety of plants for every climate.

Friends of Roxhill Elementary receives 50% of the profits from every order.

Orders are shipped directly to the person placing the order starting April 1 (there is a $6.99 shipping fee). Order deadline is May 15.

Volunteers Needed!

Even if you haven’t volunteered this year, there’s still lots of time to start! We’ll be sharing more opportunities soon, but you can always find ways to participate on our Volunteer Signup Portal. Right now, you’ll see signups for Lunchroom helpers, Reading Buddies, and the Auction, and we’ll soon be posting chances to help with t-shirts, multicultural night, the jog-a-thon, and field day!

All volunteer opportunities that take place on school grounds or field trips will require you to fill out a volunteer application through SPS. Apply here or check your status as a returning volunteer. Direct all questions about your SPS application to Office Assistant Zuri
