Family Fun Night Volunteers Needed!

We are so excited for Family Fun Night next Friday, March 27 from 5:30 – 7:30. We’ll have crafts, games, a dance party with DJ Hero in the gym, community partners, a bake sale, and, of course, lots of pizza! We hope to see you there.
We can’t throw a successful event without the support of our community. We need people to sign up to volunteer or bring a bake sale item to make our Family Fun Night a success. Volunteers will help distribute food, support fun activities, and help make sure everyone has fun while keeping our building safe and clean. We know you want to spend time with your family, so all shifts leave time for you to have fun yourself!
Free Food & Household Supplies This Saturday @ Denny Middle School
There will be lots of free food and household items for anyone who needs them at Denny International Middle School this Saturday, March 21st from 9am – 2pm.
The organization running this event, Partnership for Hope, asks people to sign up to attend. Volunteers can also use the same sign up link to support day-of distribution.
March/April Library Song
Mr. Robert has done it again and given us another amazing library song! Watch it and sing along with the video!
Please take the FEPP Levy Survey!
From Principal Bruno’s latest updates:
Seattle’s Department of Education and Early Learning is seeking input from youth, families, community-based organizations, and educators to shape levy investments and ensure they reflect community priorities and lived experiences.
The Neighborcare Clinic at Roxhill is supported through the FEPP Levy under the “ready to learn” key area. Fill out the survey and get entered to win a $50 gift certificate. Make your voice heard about how you would like to see Levy funding used to support students of all ages.
How Our Community Steps up to support Roxhill
It’s important to share the small successes and celebrations that happen all the time at Roxhill. Here are a few recent ways people have supported Roxhill.
- We know how much our entire school community appreciates the hard work our teachers do every day to educate and care for our students. As one small thank you, Friends of Roxhill organized a pizza lunch for our teachers afterschool on Wednesday, March 18!
- If you walk to school, you’ve probably noticed the new flags that have popped up this year on Holden and Kenyon. Those are thanks to the work of a parent volunteer who saw a need. Working with SDOT, we were able to provide these flag kits for the parent to install, and now all our walkers are safer every day!
- Speaking of community members stepping up, thank you to another family volunteer who recently ran a successful fundraiser for new playground sports balls with their Seahawks supporters group. We love seeing our broader community step up to support our kids learning and having fun at recess.
These are just a few examples, but there are so many more. Whether you volunteer at school, walk a neighbor’s student home, or just build community with a family you haven’t met before at drop-off, we all can help strengthen our community.
