New T-Shirts, Multicultural Night, and Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

It’s October, and school is in full swing! This month is full of wonderful events, including family-favorite Multicultural Night and our first dine-out fundraiser of the year. Events are made possible by the work of volunteers, so read on to learn more about how you can support all the fun happenings at Roxhill. Plus, look for new Roxhill T-shirts for every student coming home soon!

New Roxhill T-shirts!

Friends of Roxhill is excited to share that we’ll be sending home a T-shirt for each student in the next few weeks. 5th graders will receive a yellow shirt for outdoor school and all other students will receive a beautiful blue T-shirt. Students love to show their Roxhill pride, especially on Roxstar Fridays!

We ask families who can to donate the cost of their shirt, so watch for the donation information when T-shirts come home and please consider giving.

Want to show your own Roxhill pride? We have multiple designs and adult sizes available in the office for $10/shirt!

Parenting Class Interest Survey

Hello Roxhill!

If we haven’t met yet- Hi, I’m Brettyn, the licensed mental health provider with our school’s Neighborcare Health Clinic.

I’m checking in with families this fall to gauge interest about a possible parenting class later this school year. I’d like to run a parenting class using a model called Child-Parent Relationship Training (CPRT). (More information about CPRT here).  This is an evidence-based approach taught in small groups, that helps strengthen connection, communication, emotional regulation, and confidence in parenting through guided play-based relationship skills. Parents/guardians in the group would learn practical tools for:

  • responding to big emotions
  • strengthening attachment and connection
  • setting limits calmly and effectively
  • building confidence and cooperation
  • creating dedicated time with your child that supports emotional growth

The group would meet weekly for 1.5 hours over ten weeks. It would require in-person participation at all ten sessions and would require a commitment of 30 minutes a week outside of group practicing the skills, of which you would video record parts of and bring to group for us to use to practice the skills together.

I’d love your input to help determine interest and scheduling. Please provide your input by filling out the survey below and feel free to reach out to me personally with any questions or if you’d like to share ideas not in the form!
